" was the aroma of a hardwood fire beckoning me to enter. This was the beginnings of the peak of my weekend in the Saratoga area."

"Let the food tell you all you need to know about the restaurant, and in this case, it told me that this was one of the best dining experiences I had since I left my home town."

Denise D. - Ballston Spa, NY

Viola W. - Saratoga Springs, NY

"Been going here for 35 years and NEVER had a bad meal. I recommend the Shrimp Mangino or Lobster Mangino and Veal Sorrentino. Excellent food, service and ambiance. Especially at Christmas time when it's all decorated and a roaring wood fire is burning in the fireplace. One of my favorite restaurants."

Ray H. - Greenfield Center, NY

All in all we had a great time. It was relaxing, we had too much wine and had awesome desserts even though we were stuffed. I would certainly go back any time.

Rebecca P. - Washington, DC

"As a gluten-free vegetarian this place is ideal! The free started or garbanzo beans in an Italian type of olive oil is delicious. Then get yourself the vegetarian cacciatore. It is full of veggies, tomatoes and spices and it is gluten-free! They even have gluten-free pasta for your side but I personally opted for the browned potato. The house cabernet is also tasty and cheap." The staff is very friendly and reliable making the experience even better. All in all - I really enjoyed my meal at Mangino's. It is a classic and it is one of the best places on Saratoga Lake!

"Very good family meal"

"Celebrated our nephew's graduation with dinner. Very good food and service. I had the Veal Sorrentino that was really good. Most at our table had the Shrimp a la Mangino, which I heard was awesome."

"Easter Tradition"

"We've been here every Easter for the last few years with family, always a treat! Good location, friendly and attentive staff."

"One of my top italian restaurants anywhere"

"I travel the country for business and have been blessed with the opportunity to sample the best Italian restaurants in every city/town I visit. But I'm originally from Saratoga and have been going to Manginos since I was a kid, (I'm in my 60's now). Simply stated, it is always excellent. Yes, perhaps a bit outdated, but the food and service is always superb. Never a disappointment. I'll be back again this summer, and rest assured, Manginos is on my "must do" list."

"Fantastic Italian Food"

"This is either a "love/hate" relationship. Family owned business. The hostess and the majority of the servers are family members. You frequently will see the grandchildren helping put napkins on the tables. We've been going for many years. Food is always excellent, as is service. Shrimp a la Mangino is their specialty. (Personally, I absolutely love the scallops, they are always cooked to perfection.) It is an Italian restaurant but has great seafood dishes as well. Atmosphere is very dark and to some may seem outdated. In my opinion (having never been to Italy), I believe this may be the way an "old world Italian" restaurant would look. Prices are in line with everyone else in the area.

"Annie's the best"

"Just had dinner at manginos. Very hospitable hostess and wonderful server, Annie. The place is a bit dated, but that is what gives it it's charm. The Home made bread is warm and tasty. The calamari appetizer is the best I've had in upstate NY. The shrimp bisque is good but I prefer a lobster bisque. Chicken sorrentino was very good as well. I didn't realize the potato and vegetable is potato OR vegetable. (Got charged for the potato but she offered to remove it). Because she made the offer, we were more than happy to keep it on the bill. Annie was wonderful and so was our meal! Calamari is a MUST!"
